The Natural History Museum of Crete accepts, under conditions, a limited number of students for internships. The first step in taking up a position is to send your CV to info@nhmc.uoc.gr, marked “Internship“.

Brief employment subject description in the Exhibition for students

  1. Students of the Departments of Biology / Forestry and Environment and Natural Resources Management / Early Childhood Education and Education Sciences / Elementary Education Pedagogy / Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology / Museology are requested for the Department of Education to interpret educational programs and participate in various educational activities.
  2. A student of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts / Graphic Design is requested for the design and implementation of the supporting material for museum activities.
  3. A student of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication / Department of Business Research and Marketing / Department of Marketing and Communication is requested for the promotion of the museum and the promotion of its actions in printed and digital media.
  4. A student of the Departments of Organization and Business Administration is wanted for the staffing of the position of Reception and Reservations.
  5. A student of the Departments of Economics / Accounting and Finance is wanted for the staffing of the Museum Sales Office.
  6. A student of the Computer Department is wanted to meet the needs of the exhibition hall.
  7. A student of the Departments of Organization and Business Administration is wanted for the staffing of the position of Reception and Reservations.

Brief employment subject description in its scientific departments

Students of Departments related to biology, environment, geology, GIS (Biology, Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental and Natural Resource Management, Statistics, etc.) are requested at the Divisions and its laboratory units for cataloging – digitization of the collections of the NHMC-UoC.

It includes, on a case-by-case basis, identification of samples and their processing up to their final storage form, their physical and digital recording and secondary processing elements (e.g. statistical processing, distribution maps, mapping using GIS, etc.).

The Association of Friends of the Natural History Museum of Crete accepts, under conditions, a limited number of students for internships. Contact us on 2810 393630, before sending us your CV to info@nhmc.uoc.gr, marked “Internship”.

IEK students specializing in the Custodian of Museums and Archaeological sites to meet the needs of guarding the exhibition space of the museum. The students who undertake to carry out their internship must be consistent in their obligations and fulfill the tasks assigned to them with diligence, responsibility and care (protection of the environment, implementation of preventive measures, safe handling and correct handling of emergencies, communication with the visitors).

A necessary condition for cooperation is a very good knowledge of at least 1 foreign language.

Internship – Erasmus programs

Students from all over the world can follow the work of the museum and the exhibition, participate in its activities and in its scientific departments. The Natural History Museum of Crete and the Museum Exhibition support Internship and Erasmus programs through the University of Crete.
