Research interests
- As Exhibition Manager, Niki Paximada supervises all museum facilities (permanent and periodic exhibitions, building, surrounding area)
- Takes care of the maintenance and restoration of the exhibition objects
- Interprets educational programs in school groups and guided tours
- She is a member of the educational team which designs new programs and actions

Niki Paximada studied at the Department of Marine Sciences, University of the Aegean. She gained IKY’s scholarship for two years. She studied for six months at the “Center d ’Oceanologie de Marseille” on an Erasmus program. In 2011 she completed the Master Degree in Environmental Biology, at the University of Crete.
Since 2004 she has participated in research activities about macrofauna of the deep sea at the Hellenic Center for Marine Research (ELKETHE). In 2008 she collaborated with the Aquarium of Crete-Thalassokosmos as a tour guide and participating in educational programs.
Since 2018, she belongs to the staff of NHMC as an Exhibition Manager and as a Museum Educator. In 2020 she enriched her studies with the Certificate of Pedagogical Training from the Higher School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (ASPAITE) and with the Certification of Special Education from the University of the Aegean. She has a degree in scuba diving (Scuba diving) and a sailing diploma.
