tab_id=”1688125686934-8″][vc_column_text]The Divisions of \u201cGeodiversity\u201d and \u201cPalaeontology\u201d are temporarily merged together, are staffed by two members and are managed by Dr Charalampos Fassoulas.<\/span><\/p>\n

They are mainly focused on the geodiversity of the south Aegean and eastern Mediterranean region, dealing with the geodiversity, the tectonics and the landscape response, the life appearance in the area, as well as on the risk mitigation from natural induced disasters. <\/span><\/p>\n

Scientific staff participates in research and management projects enhancing the importance of the geological substratum for natural environment and human presence. In addition, collaborates with international and local research institutions and groups in fundamental geological studies. <\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”nectarslider_style” images=”41591,27464,27465,27479,41606,41623,41624,41738″ image_loading=”default” bullet_navigation_style=”see_through” onclick=”link_no”][vc_column_text]The Divisions also support the educational and knowledge sharing activities of the museum and the University of Crete, as well as, the temporary and permanent exhibitions.<\/p>\n

The Divisions are active on basic and applied science, the development and implementation of studies and research projects, the training and education of students and broader public and on scientific and popular publications.<\/p>\n

Together with other Divisions, they participate\u00a0 at the implementation of management plans and actions, inreview in gand opinion developing activities and the organization of temporary and permanent exhibitions.<\/p>\n
