Photo of a Brown Bear, Ursus arctos, Europe’s largest, terrestrial living carnivore. In the past, it was found throughout Europe, North America and Asia. Due to human activities, it is restricted to few mountainous areas and is considered to be endangered. Its length reaches 2.8 m and its weight varies from 60 to 200 kg for the females and 100 to 315 kg for the males.
