Photo of White Asphodel, Asphodelus ramosus, in bloom, in Crete, Greece. This is the most common asphodel of Greece and grows in woodland, phrygana and soil-filled hollows. All its strap-shaped leaves are basal. It flowers in spring and its flower stem is branched and hollow. The flowers are white, with a brown midvein.
