Photo of a NHMC herbarium specimen of Rock-dwelling Tulip, Tulipa saxatilis. It is one of the species of wild tulips that grow in the island of Crete Greece. This pink, spring flowering tulip can also be seen in the eastern Aegean islands and the Turkish coasts. It grows in rocky mountain slopes, and in cultivated fields, often forming large patches.
