Long-eared Owl, Asio otus

Photo of the Long-eared Owl, Asio otus, a medium- sized (35 cm) nocturnal raptor, resembling a small eagle owl. It occurs in conifer and broadleaved woods, but also in cultivations near inhabited areas. It feeds on rodents and small birds, nesting in tree holes or in other birds' deserted nests.
