Cretan Βarberry, Berberis cretica, fruits

Photo of the fruits of Cretan Βarberry, Berberis cretica. It is an extremely spiny deciduous bush that grows in rocky locations and flat clay dolines in the mountains above 900 m. In Crete it flowers in May and June. Its tiny yellow flowers turns to tiny very dark blue berries later in the summer.
