Photo of flowers of White Asphodel, Asphodelus aestivus, from Crete, Greece. This is the most common asphodel of Greece and grows in woodland, phrygana and soil-filled hollows. It flowers in spring and its flower stem is branched and hollow. The flowers are white, with a brown midvein.
