Photo of a sketch of Bearded Vulture, Gypaetus barbatus, the biggest vulture of Europe. On the head, close to the beak, Bearded Vulture has a long tuft of feathers which looks like a beard. It is this characteristic "beard" that gives the bird its scientific name, Gypaetus barbatus.
