Photo of the Moorish Gecko, Tarentola mauritanica. Total length 16cm. It lives on stony walls, ruins, rocks, trees, even in houses. It is mainly nocturnal. Its fingers are like cups that help it to climb with ease. It can change its body colour according its mood. It feeds on small arthropods. It is one of the very few lizards that can produce sounds: for reproduction, territoriality or if it is threatened.
