Photo of a Wild boar, Sus scrofa, in a breeding place, in Crete, Greece. It is the wild ancestor of the domestic pig. The longer hair and the very big canine teeth in males are the main characteristic of the wild boar. Adults average 1 -1.7 m in length and weight 30-150 kg. It is mainly nocturnal and omnivorous.
