Photo of the scorpion Androctonus australis hidding in its shelter. These scorpions are thermophilous and xerophilous. They live mainly in the deserts of North Africa. They are nocturnal and during the day they hide in crevices, under rocks or in shallow hollows which they dig in the soil.
