Photo of the Little Bittern, Ixobrychus minutus, which is a small characteristic heron observed during migration in the Aegean islands. Although it is a quite common species it is seldom seen, as it stays hidden among the reeds and the vegetation of river mouths and other wetlands with its outstretched neck and beak staring upward.
